I was going through old notes from previous studies I’ve done over the years, and I came across these; I adapted them and thought I’d share here:
The Scriptures tells us that God wants us to know, believe, and understand who He is (Isaiah 43:10). It is truly mind-boggling and humbling, and awe-inspiring that the Creator of heaven and earth desires a relationship with each one of us—yep, you and me! Entering a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, impacts not only our eternal salvation but also greatly affects our day-to-day life. Knowing that He is sovereign, mighty, loving, good, and true to His Word reassures our hearts as we navigate this world. Believing that I am who He says I am—loved, forgiven, and new— bolsters my confidence and teaches me that I can do all things through Christ who saves and strengthens me. Walking in belief means that the more I read the Bible and come to the Father in prayer, the more I truly walk in the truths of who God is and who He has made me to be. These beliefs lead to action as the grab hold of me. God turns my weakness into strength as I surrender and invite Him to move. And this is not just for me, but for you, and all who accept His invitation and come to Him in faith.
Faith is not just a frame of mind; it also leads to action.
“You see that his (Abraham) faith and his actions were working together,
and his faith was made complete by what he did.” James 3:22
The Lord calls us to believe His Truth and actively follow Him… even over our own emotions which can lead us astray. And He asks us to believe Him for our past, present and future. God wants us to take possession of our Promised Land and stop aimlessly wandering in the desert. And belief prompts those first steps.
Belief in God –
Relies on Truth as the foundation
Saves us
Restores us
Redeems us
Invites Him in all our situations
Trusts His will and His ways
Looks beyond circumstances
Results in action
Invites His power
Conquers fears
Heals hurts
Strengthens hearts
Equips us for battle
Instills peace
Overflows with joy
Clings to hope
Brings satisfaction
Refreshes our spirits
Rests in His love to us and allows it to flow through us
Is there an area where you need to believe God today?
The power belongs to God alone. Our belief just invites and unleashes His power in our lives. Through Christ we can do all this and much more!
“Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.” Psalm 106:12
