“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”
Knowing who God is makes it so much easier to submit to His will and ways, and to His plans for our life. We first submit to Him as Creator, then as our Savior, and then as our Lord. We submit to Him for salvation, for forgiveness, for guidance, for strength. We seek His Word as the truth on which we establish our lives. We surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives—not grieving or quenching His promptings, leadings, or corrections. We surrender to humility, purity, peace, mercy. We stand firm in our faith no matter what comes against us. Surrendering is not always easy—we still contend with our flesh and pride. It is a constant decision to submit each day and every moment. Submission requires drawing near to God and resisting the devil. It means asking for His wise counsel.
“Teach me to do your will, you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalm 143:10
Submission means seeking God’s will for every occasion—not looking to the left or the right. God holds our hope and the answers. There are many voices that vie for our attention and allegiance, but God should be the only one on the throne of our lives. A life surrendered to God is a life full of blessings! He leads us to green pastures and to peace that passes all understanding. So, let's ask Him to show us the path to take and the road to follow.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7
