I am currently writing scripts for videos that will accompany the chapters in my book, "Come to the Father: Drawing Near to God through Prayer and Scripture." Each of the lessons takes a closer look at the Lord's Prayer. The following devotion emerged from that process and is inspired by the first line in Jesus' Prayer : "Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name" (Matt 6:9).
Hallowing God's name refocuses us and puts Him in His proper place over our lives.
This devotion is based on that prayer prompt. As you'll see hallowing the Lord's name has wonderful implications.
Father, glorify your name in the heavens and among the earth. Glorify your name through my life. May I die to self and live for Christ. May seeds of love and hope and the Gospel message spring forth from my life. Hallow your name today.
Amen.
God is holy regardless of our conception. He desires though that everyone come to this realization. He continually reveals His glory to all of mankind; He continually reaches out and shows us His love and kindness. His holiness is indisputable, but each of us is responsible for our confession of this truth. Someday every knee will bow, every heart will be humbled before Him. His glory and holiness will be acknowledged throughout all of heaven and earth!
Amen.
God’s glory is indescribable and indisputable. May I exalt and magnify His name with my words and actions. He alone deserves all praise. He reigns from on high yet bends down low to meet us. May worship and gratitude fill my heart and overflow through my humble obedience, surrender, and service to the Lord.
Amen.
The holiness of the Lord is beyond human comprehension and adequate description. All of Heaven worships in wonder around God’s throne. They sing and proclaim praises to the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. Angels, saints, and all of creation join in. We are invited to enter the chorus being sung, adding our voices to the anthem already going on. The Lord is radiant, glorious and righteous reigning from His Throne Room. What an extraordinary vision to behold! May my life be one filled with awe and wonder, reverence and praise, humility and surrender. All to Jesus Name!
Amen.
Lord, as you are hallowed in the heavens, may you be hallowed upon the earth. May the dawn break forth, may the rocks cry out, may my mouth proclaim that a Jesus Christ is Lord. May my life reflect your glory and point others to seek your face. May my words speak of your holiness, power, and grace. May the Gospel message spread like wildfire, igniting hearts worldwide. May your name be on our lips and worship be sung in our praise. Glorify your name, hallow it in our hearts. Let our hope, peace, and joy testify to your greatness. Hallowed be your name!
Amen.
Read Revelation 1 and 5.
“In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’ Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’” Revelation 5:12-13
Take a moment to hallow the Lord with your own prayer right now.

God's glory is revealed in all of His creation!
