The Christmas season is clearly upon us. Gifts, trees, carols, decorations, and the hustle and bustle are in full swing. Let’s pause and remember that this is truly a time of celebrating the birth of Jesus, our Newborn Savior and King. Jesus is the reason and should be our focus this holiday season. He is the greatest Gift we will ever receive! He is the Gift that blesses our hearts, revives our spirits, ensures our future, and impacts every area of our lives.

For God so loved us, that He gave His Son.

The hope of the world was born without fanfare and placed in a manger.

Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us.

The angels proclaimed, “goodwill from God, peace with mankind.” A glorious and gracious gesture from God Almighty. He sent His Son from Heaven to live among us, teach us the Way, to die for our sins, and be Savior of the world. This is a Gift we cannot earn and do not merit. It is freely given, and we need only receive it by faith.

Our sins are forgiven.

We are welcomed into Heaven.

Truly, this is Christmas!

Believe, rejoice, and enjoy!

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:10-14

So, amid the holiday festivities, let’s make time to meet with Jesus. Spending time with the birthday Savior is the greatest gift of all.

Meet with Him in the quiet and He will restore your soul. His peace will flood your heart; His presence will still your mind. His joy will overtake you and you’ll experience the truest meaning of Christmas.

Jesus, our Savior is born.

Peace on earth, God’s goodwill toward mankind.

God’s love came down and dwelt among us in the form of a baby boy.

Tear open the shutters and throw up the sash.

Shout it from the rooftops, go tell it on the mountain.

Merry Christmas to everyone from Heaven above!

Make Him a birthday cake—like my grandma always did—sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ and give gifts to one another in honor of His day.

Rejoice and be glad. Jesus Christ is Lord!

(In keeping with my Grandma’s tradition, I had these cakes made for a Christmas—Happy Birthday Jesus party last year.)
