The Door

Each of us has a door to our hearts. We have a choice as to what and who we let enter in. Too often we shut our hearts completely for fear of being hurt. Or we hesitantly keep the door just slightly ajar, cautiously inspecting the one on the other side of the threshold. The prospect of opening the door completely is one that leaves us vulnerable and exposed. Jesus stands outside the door; He is knocking and beckoning us to open our hearts to Him. There is no need for apprehension, no reason to delay; swing the door wide open and invite Him in to stay.
Jesus may rearrange the furniture, reorganize your cupboards, and look under the rug, but rest assured it’s never with judgment in mind; it’s always with the purpose of bringing order to the chaos, restoration to broken spaces, and healing to hurt places. He revives hope and joy to our hearts and brings peace to our homes. Invite Jesus in, give Him a tour and then take a seat, have a conversation, and rest in His company.
Opening the door and inviting Jesus in is the best decision I’ve ever made!
Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and Knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
