Lead me

Lately it seems that the world is drowning in tragedy; we are knee-deep and neck-high in problems. Just turn on the T.V. to hear more bad news—worldwide virus, racism, hate, division, looting, riots, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, etc. I will stop there before I really get you down. Besides the broad scope of issues, I have been hearing of many much more personal trials that hit close to home such as illness, hospitalizations, job losses, and even death. Really, I promise that is it for the doom and gloom, now onto the brighter side of things. Despite these tribulations we have a mighty hope. God is still in control; He is good; He is strong; He is extremely capable. He gives my feet a firm and solid place to stand when it feels as if all the earth is fraught with sinking sand. He reaches out His hand, grabs hold of mine and pulls me up to safety, out of the reach of everything that tries so hard to drag me down. He leads me to a place that is higher than myself; higher than my struggles, my sadness, my despair; above the uncertainties and anxieties, to a Rock that is firm and secure. He leads me to a place where hope, faith, peace, and joy continually exist, even though hardships still persist. He leads me to the calming refuge of His ever-loving Presence.

Psalm 61:1-2, “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
