Goodness

Heavenly Father, I pray that the people of this world, the members of my family, my friends both near and far, my neighbors and community would all notice and acknowledge the evidence of Your goodness that is all around. That instead of simply appreciating the goodness of Your beautiful creation, they would marvel at the goodness of their Creator; that the glowing sunset which takes their breath away would remind them of the One who gives them life and breath; that the sun, moon, and stars which shine at night, would bring to their mind Your Son Jesus, our glorious Light. I pray that the feel of cool fresh water on their tongue would elicit a thirst for Your Living Water; that a bite of ripe, sweet, fruit would lead them of their Savior, the very Bread of Life. I pray that the warm embrace of a loved one would point them to Your unconditional, everlasting, holy, pure, agape love. I pray that all things, simple and spectacular, would lead people to find the goodness of Your Holy Presence.

I pray that everything good in this world would serve as a powerful testimony to hearts and minds everywhere; that everyone would personally encounter Your surpassing goodness, and then in turn would give You praise. Amen.

Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

Spending time with the Lord is sweeter and more satisfying than even these delights.
