Who?

Oftentimes our circumstances cause us to ask God, why?

Maybe we need to stop asking why and instead ask questions that focus on who.

Who holds the stars in the sky?

Who keeps the earth spinning both day and night?

Who created me and knit me together and numbers all my days?

Who sees my struggles and calls me by name?

Who never leaves or forsakes me, but stays by my side?

Who uses everything for my good and gives me a hope and a future?

Who is loving, gracious, merciful, and powerful all the time?

Who is my Father—whose daughter am I?

Who is the One who tells me I matter?

God is the One who does all of this and more. He is our sovereign Creator and our loving Heavenly Father. If He says we matter, then we most definitely do. That should give our confidence a boost.

Even if we don’t have all the answers or know all the reasons why, we do know that God is good and His plan for us is too.

God sees us all the time; we just need to realize that He is right beside us and pray that He would open our eyes to the blessings He provides.

Genesis 16:13, “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’”

This is the Valley of Elah where David fought the giant Goliath and won. David did not let his circumstances deter him, he was focused on God. David took down the fully armed giant with just a sling and a stone--and the power of the LORD.
