Overcome

Lord, help me to overcome the ways of this world with the mindset of Jesus.

Help me to overcome:

The existence of evil with the presence of good.

Acts of hate with deeds of love.

Trembling fear with unwavering faith.

Ulterior motives with pure intentions.

Pits of despair with springs of hope.

Heaviness of heart with unshakable joy.

Discontent with grateful thanksgiving.

Outer turmoil with inner peace.

Shifting emotions with unchanging truth.

My human weaknesses with the power of Christ.

Lord, help me to overcome every obstacle and tendency by leaning into You. Help me to overcome and shine and overflow by the strength of Your Spirit at work in me.

Amen.
